N connectors are popular medium size air dielectric interface connectors intended for use with .350 to .450 diameter coaxial cables. San-tron also makes versions that will accept cables ranging from .085 to .545 in diameter. They employ a screw type coupling mechansim and have air dielectric interfaces which yield consistantly low VSWR values. This makes them desirable for instrument and test equipment applications. N connectors are 50 ohm constant impedance connectors and operate from DC to 11 GHz. They are weatherproof. There are also 70 ohm N connectors and adapters available. They will not mate with their 50 ohm counterparts. Unless otherwise noted all San-tron N connectors are nickel plated and have silver plated center contacts. They are also available in other finishes such as silver or Albaloy and with gold plated center contacts. Coupling nuts, except when noted, do not have wire holes. All San-tron N connectors will mate with connectors and adapters which have MIL-STD-348 N interfaces.
