LC connectors are large size high voltage connectors intended for use with .500 to .730 diameter coaxial cables. They employ a screw type coupling mechanism and extended dielectrics for longer breakdown paths. They are 50 ohm constant impedance connectors, operate from DC to 1 GHz and are weatherproof. San-tron makes only two LC connectors, the UG-154A/U and UG-154B/U. The former utilizes the cable core and center conductor as its dielectric and center contact while the latter is supplied with a separate insulator and center contact. For use in 5,000 volt applications the dielectric of either connector is butted against the dielectric of the mating connector. For use in 10,000 volt applications the dielectric of the UG-154A/U is counterbored using tool TL-326/U to establish a longer breakdown path. Unless otherwise noted all San-tron LC connectros are nickel plated and have silver plated center contacts. They are also available in other finishes such as silver or Albaloy and with gold plated center contacts. All San-tron LC connectors will mate with connectors and adapters which have MIL-STD-348 LC interfaces.
